Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Up & Adam, LLC, operating as Up & Adam Studios (“we” or “us”), for your use of The Step. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

You must be 18 or older

The Step is for adults 18 and older. By using it, you confirm you are at least 18. If we learn that an account or device belongs to someone under 18, we may stop providing the app to them.

The Step is not medical care

The Step is a productivity and decision-support tool. It supports people with ADHD and other neurodivergent adults in making everyday decisions. It is not a medical app, not a therapist, and not a substitute for professional medical or mental-health care. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Do not rely on it for clinical decisions or in an emergency.

If you are in crisis or need mental-health support, please contact a healthcare professional or a crisis line. In the United States, you can call or text 988to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If you are elsewhere, contact your local emergency number or crisis service.

Your license to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use The Step on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. We keep all rights, title, and ownership in the app, including its code, design, and content.

How you may not use it

• Do not rely on the app for clinical, medical, or emergency decisions, or as your primary source of support in a crisis.
• Copy, resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or try to extract the source code, except where that restriction is not allowed by law.
• Use the app to break the law or to interfere with how it works.

Your content stays on your device

What you enter into The Step stays on your device and belongs to you. We do not access it, and you are responsible for keeping your own backups. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Subscriptions and payments

The Step may offer optional paid plans. If a free trial is offered, its length and what happens when it ends are shown before you start it. After any trial, a paid plan bills through your Google Play account at the price shown at the time of purchase, and a recurring plan renews automatically until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time in your Google Play account. Canceling stops future charges; it does not retroactively refund the current period unless required by law or Google Play’s policies. Billing, renewals, refunds, and cancellation are handled by Google Play under its own terms.

The app is provided “as is”

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. You use the app at your own risk.

Limit on liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Up & Adam, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for any loss of data, or for any decision or action you take in reliance on the app. Because the app stores your information only on your device, keeping your own backups is the best protection against data loss.

Disputes and governing law

If you have a concern, please contact us first at adam@upandadamco.com so we can try to resolve it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in, and you agree to the jurisdiction of, the state and federal courts located in Ohio, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Changes

We may update these terms. The current version will always be posted here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
