The Step, an Up & Adam Studios app

Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

This is the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for The Step, published by Up & Adam, LLC, operating as Up & Adam Studios, in Columbus, Ohio. It is provided as a separate document, on purpose, because Washington’s My Health My Data Act and similar laws in Nevada and Connecticut require a standalone consumer health data policy. It works alongside our general Privacy Policy.

The short version. The Step handles a small amount of information that could relate to your health, and it handles all of it on your device. We do not collect it onto our servers, we do not share it with anyone, and we do not and will not sell it.

What consumer health data the app works with

“Consumer health data” means information that could be used to learn something about your physical or mental health. In The Step, that can include:

  • The fact that you use an app that supports neurodivergent adults, and the kinds of “stuck” states you choose.
  • Your decisions, commitments, and any notes you write, which may reflect how you are feeling or what you are working through.
  • Any optional check-ins or profile answers you choose to provide.

Where it comes from

This information comes only from you, as you use the app. We do not buy it, and we do not obtain it from any other source.

How it is used

It is used for one purpose: to make the app work for you on your device, by showing options that fit your situation and remembering the steps you commit to. All of this processing happens on your device.

Who we share it with, and whether we sell it

No one, and we do not sell it. Your consumer health data stays on your device. We do not collect it onto our servers, we share it with no third parties or affiliates, and we do not sell it or license it. Google processes payments if you subscribe, but Google does not receive the health-related information inside the app.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • See it. Your information is visible to you inside the app on your device.
  • Delete it. You can delete individual entries in the app, or remove all of it by deleting the app.
  • Withdraw consent. You can turn off any optional feature in Settings, or stop using the app, at any time.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To ask a question or make a request, email adam@upandadamco.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you ask us to confirm, access, or delete consumer health data we somehow hold, we will do so.

If we ever add a feature that sends data off your device

The Step does not send your information off your device today. If we ever add an optional feature that would (for example, an opt-in AI feature), we will ask for your separate, opt-in consent first, name exactly what would be sent and to whom, and update this policy before turning it on. We will never sell consumer health data, and we would only ever share it with your separate written authorization, which we do not currently seek because we do not share it at all.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Questions can go to adam@upandadamco.com.
